Our Story

How It All Started...

Born from a God-given vision for the unwanted and those who didn't fit into the typical "church crowd", a group of believers began meeting in locations throughout Vicksburg each week in 2012. We met in a restaurant, a school, an auditorium, and even an outdoor park. Attendees worked together to set up and tear down sound equipment, curtains, chairs, lights, and more every week for a one hour worship service. Groups met in homes and community spaces. But even when we had no permanent location, God still moved. On May 5, 2013, we officially launched under the name Elevate Church with a mission to "reach those far from Christ and His Church."  In September of 2013, we began meeting at our current location on Manor Drive. Throughout the years, we have worked to transform that location from an empty warehouse to a house of healing, restoration, and worship.

How It's Going...

Over the past 11 years, we have seen God move in incredible ways. From transforming our church into what it is today, to the life-change we’ve witnessed firsthand, and the doors He’s opened for us to minister to people across the world—God has shown us what it truly means to "Be Blessed and Bless Others." Through trials, storms that tore off parts of our building, pandemics, and more; we have still seen that there is nothing that our God can't do and He has shown His faithfulness like never before. Recently, we have had the opportunity to partner with a church organization in Zimbabwe, Africa - Celebration Zimbabwe - where we have seen God move in incredible ways. We have provided meals to those who need it and even have provided the funds to build a church building for a location. We live amazed by God's mighty grace and provision over our lives.

What's Next...

Every week we end our service with the phrase, "the best is yet to come." This is not something we say to sound good. It's a declaration of our faith that we know God is not done with us as individuals and God is not done with Elevate Church. We don't know what our future looks like, but we know God does and we stand on His Word: For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. - Jeremiah 29:11
